Long March II F Carrier Rocket Arrives at Launch Center

[May 4th CMSP news] According to the news spokesman for China's Manned Space Program, Long March II F carrier rocket for Shenzhou-10 spaceship arrived at Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center on May 2.

The Long March II F was developed by China Academy of Launch Vehicle Technology (CALT), a subsidiary of China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation. Compared with the rocket for Shenzhou-9 spaceship, this rocket has undergone over ten technological innovations to improve its safety and reliability.

After its arrival, a series of assembly and test works for Long March II F will be carried out at the launch center. Before that, the ground facilities at the launch site had been repaired and tested, and the post staffs had been trained on the plan. Now, the launch site is well prepared for the Shenzhou-10 mission.

Shenzhou-10 spaceship arrived at the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center on March 31; all of its pre-launch tests and the preparation works for the mission go smoothly on the schedule.
