"Tiangong Class", China's first space science popularization education brand, will be officially launched to bring the comprehensive benefits of China Space Station into full play. The first space class will be live-streamed around the world in the next few days.
As a national space laboratory, the space station is also an important base for space science popularization education. With unique educational resources, it has special advantages in inspiring the public, especially young people, to carry forward the spirit of science and love for the space cause. On June 20, 2013, astronaut Wang Yaping, assisted by the two other crew members Nie Haisheng and Zhang Xiaoguang, delivered the country's first space class to over 60 million schoolchildren across China. The event generated huge social repercussions and sowed the seeds of space dreams in the hearts of the generation. After Shenzhou-13 crew entered the space station assembly, the public, especially young people, were looking forward to Chinese astronauts teaching in space again.
"Tiangong Class" will be carried out during the construction and in-orbit operation of China Space Station in combination with the manned missions. The class will be given by Chinese astronauts as "teachers in space" and mainly targeted at young people. During the teaching, the astronauts interact with students on the Earth. Meanwhile, class content, interactive questions and creative suggestions will be widely collected through the media, xuexi.cn platform and the official website of China Manned Space Program, after which the best ones will be included in the planning and implementation of "Tiangong Class". The public, especially young people, are welcomed to participate in it.
