Re-entry module of Shenzhou-13 manned spacecraft successfully lands, showing complete success in flight mission
2022-04-16
At 09:56 am (Beijing Time) on April 16, 2022, the re-entry module of Shenzhou-13 manned spacecraft landed successfully at Dongfeng Landing Site. The medical monitoring and support personnel on site confirmed that astronauts Zhai Zhigang, Wang Yaping and Ye Guangfu were in good health. Shenzhou-13  manned flight mission marked a complete success.
At 09:06 am, with a return command from the Beijing Aerospace Control Center through the ground TT&C station, the orbital module of Shenzhou-13 manned spacecraft successfully separated from the re-entry module. After that, the return brake of the spacecraft started and the engine turned on for ignition, separating the re-entry module from the propelling module. After the successful landing of the re-entry module, the search and rescue team responsible found the target in time and arrived at the landing site at the first time. After the hatch of the re-entry module was opened, the medical monitoring and support personnel confirmed that astronauts were in good health. Leaders from Headquarters of the Space Station Phase Mission   met the astronauts at Dongfeng Landing Site.
Shenzhou-13 manned spacecraft was launched from Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center on October 16, 2021, and then docked with the core module Tianhe and formed an assembly. 3 astronauts entered the core module for a 6-month stay, setting a new record for the continuous on-orbit flight duration of Chinese astronauts. During the on-orbit flight, astronauts successively carried out 2 extravehicular activities (EVAs), conducted a number of scientific and technological experiments (demonstrations), such as hand-controlled teleoperation rendezvous and docking, robot arm-assisted module transfer, and verified astronauts' long-term stay support, regenerative life support, space material supply, EVAs, extravehicular operation, in-orbit maintenance and other key technologies. Besides the missions, astronauts also gave 2 classes of "Tiangong Classroom" in space and held a series of distinctive popular science education and cultural communication activities.
The successful Shenzhou-13 manned mission marks the successful completion of the mission in the key technology verification phase of the space station, and China Space Station is about to enter the construction phase.
