At 16:01 Beijing Time on October 12, 2022, the third live class of the "Tiangong Classroom" was delivered at the China Space Station. The new "space teachers" Chen Dong, Liu Yang and Cai Xuzhe, gave a wonderful space science popularization class to the young students on Earth. This is the first time that Chinese astronauts taught in the Wentian Lab Module.

During the class that lasted about 50 minutes, Shenzhou-14 crew members Chen Dong, Liu Yang and Cai Xuzhe vividly introduced and displayed their working and living scenes in the Wentian Lab Module of the space station, showcased the capillary action experiment, the "lazy" water ball experiment, the scene of drinking water with a super-long straw, a wrench that could turn around and other magical phenomena in the microgravity environment and carefully explained the scientific principles behind the experiments. In addition, they also showed rice and thale cress plants that are growing inside a special cabinet in the China Space Station and demonstrated the glove box cutting operation. During the class, the astronauts had real-time interactions with teachers and students in the ground classroom through video calls, and the experts in the ground classroom also carefully analyzed relevant scientific issues.

The main ground classroom of this activity was set up in the Technology and Engineering Center for Space Utilization, Chinese Academy of Sciences, and there're three ground sub-classrooms respectively in Heze, Shandong, Zhengzhou, Henan, and Dali, Yunnan. About 400 primary and secondary school students attended the live class. China Media Group broadcast the whole class live.

The teaching activity was jointly sponsored by the China Manned Space Agency, the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Science and Technology, the China Association for Science and Technology and the China Media Group, and supported by the Beijing Aerospace Control Center, the China Astronaut Research and Training Center, the Technology and Engineering Center for Space Utilization, Chinese Academy of Sciences, the Chinese Academy of Space Technology and other research and test participants in the Manned Space Program.

During the construction and operation of the space station, the "Tiangong Classroom" will continue to carry out space teaching activities and launch diversified and rich space science popularization contents. China Manned Space Agency will continue to collect creative suggestions on the "Tiangong Classroom" through the media, www.xuexi.cn, the official website of the Manned Space Program and other platforms. Various circles of society, especially young students, are welcomed to take active part in such classes.
