The Space Station Application and Development Phase Mission Headquarters has decided upon prudent research that Tang Hongbo, Tang shengjie and Jiang xinlin will be the crew members to carry out Shenzhou-17 spaceflight mission, and Tang Hongbo will be the commander. With one taikonauts from Batch 2 and two from Batch 3, the crew is the youngest in average age since the start of China’s space station program.
