The Long March 2F Y23 carrier rocket carrying the Shenzhou-23 manned spaceship was launched at 23:08, 24th May, 2026 (Beijing Time) at the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center.About 10 minutes later, the Shenzhou-23 manned spaceship was successfully separated from the rocket and entered the predetermined orbit. The crew are in good conditions. The launch achieved a complete success.
 
 
This mission is the 7th manned flight mission of China's manned space program during the phase of space station application and development, the 40th launch mission since initiation of the program, and the 644th flight of Long March carrier rockets.
 
 
After entering orbit, the spacecraft will conduct autonomous rapid rendezvous and docking with the space station according to the predetermined procedure. The crew of Shenzhou-23 will take over the work from those of Shenzhou-21.
 
 
During their work and stay in the space station, the Shenzhou-23 crew will carry out a large number of space science experiments in space life sciences and human research, microgravity physical science, new space technology, and other fields. They will conduct multiple extravehicular activities, execute a series of tasks including installation, commissioning and maintenance of intravehicular and extravehicular equipment.
