[May 18, CMSE News] Recently, trainings for China’s second group of astronauts have been fully launched. As introduced by Yang Liwei, deputy director of the Astronaut Training Center and deputy chief commander of the Astronaut System, astronauts of the second  group will receive trainings together with astronauts of the first group. The training will form at least two training programs. There will be no obvious difference on training items between female and male astronauts.

The second group of astronauts will undertake the task to carry out space-related scientific experiments, therefore their trainings are more complicated. Though the training items for female astronauts are almost as same as for male astronauts, criteria and intensity levels for trainings of female astronauts will be somehow different with the consideration of their task characteristics .
