CMSE News, April 10 -- The manned spaceship Shenzhou-9 ,which will carry out China’s first manned docking mission, was transported to the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center in northwest China on April 9, China Manned Space Engineering Office spokesman said.

In accordance with the technical procedures, development, assembly and factory testing of the spaceship and onboard payloads have been completed, which show that the quality is under strict supervision, and performance and functions meet the requirements. Its carrier rocket, the Long March-2F, is undergoing factory tests in accordance with the plan, the spokesman said.

During the preparation of the manned flight mission of Shenzhou 9, the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center has improved the safety and reliability of associated facilities and equipment. Overall technical preparation and on site training have been carried out accordingly. Repairing and detecting of associated facilities and equipment have also been completed. At present all preparation works for the mission are well underway as planned.

In 2011, China’s first target spacecraft Tiangong-1 successfully docked with the unmanned spaceship Shenzhou-8. This year, China will launch Shenzhou-9 spaceship with 3 astronauts onboard to conduct manually the rendezvous and docking mission with Tiangong-1.With its good condition and performance, Tiangong-1 is well prepared on orbit for the docking mission.
