Shenzhou 10 Spaceship Delivered and Mission Fully Underway

[March 31, CMSE News] On March 30, China Manned Space Program spokesperson announced that Shenzhou 10 spaceship has passed ex-factory review and has been transferred to the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center(JSLC) at the same day. Next, the on site tests and preparation works will be started at the launch center according to the schedule.

Followed the technical procedures, Shenzhou 10 spaceship has finished product development, assembly and ex-factory tests, the product quality was controlled, the functionality and performance met the engineering requirements. The Long March IIF Yao 10 carrier Vehicle, which is used for Shenzhou 10 spaceship launch, is implementing various preparation works on the schedule before leaving factory.

Based on the characteristics of manned spaceflight mission of Tiangong I and Shenzhou 10, JSLC is focusing on improving the safety and reliability of the ground facilities and equipments, has purposely conducted general  technique preparation and posts training, has finished checking and testing of the ground facilities and equipments for the mission, trained and examined all posts staff.

Currently, the ground facilities and equipments at the launch center are well-functioned, all of the preparation works are systematically underway followed the procedures and the schedule; Tiangong I, as target spacecraft, is working normally and well functioned in the orbit, which is suitable for the rendezvous & docking mission.

According to the mission plan, Shenzhou 10 spaceship will be option launched from JSLC between June and August. Three astronauts will be onboard of the spaceship and conduct manned space rendezvous & docking with Tiangong I target spacecraft, carry out the first application flight for the manned transportation between ground and the in orbit spacecraft.
