Resume:
A major general of the Chinese People’s Liberation Army and a special-grade astronaut. Now he is the deputy director of the China Manned Space Engineering Office. Yang Liwei, as one of the first-generation astronauts cultivated by China, was selected as the alternate member of the CPC Central Committee at the 17th National Congress of the CPC. His safe flight time during his service in the Air Force reaches 1,350 hours. At 9:00 of October 15, 2003 (Beijing Time), in the Shenzhou V spaceship carried by the Changzheng 2F rocket, Yang Liwei, as the first Chinese astronaut, entered into the outer space, and then was awarded the title “spaceflight hero”.
