Resume:
He joined the People's Liberation Army (PLA) in June, 1983 and graduated from Changchun Flight Academy in May, 1987. He served as a navigation director in the Air Force and flied various kinds of planes including J7, with 1,450 hours of safe flight. In January, 1998, he formally became the a member of China’s first batch of astronauts. Now he is a special-grade astronaut of the PLA Astronaut Corps and reaches the rank of Major General. In October, 2005, he successfully undertook the Shenzhou VI mission and was awarded the title Hero Astronaut. He was selected to carry out the Tiangong 1/Shenzhou 10 Manned Spaceflight mission in April, 2013.
