Resume:
Senior Colonel of the Chinese People’s Liberation Army and one of China’s first group of astronauts. He joined the army in June 1985 and worked as a navigation director in an Aviation Corps of the PLA Air Force. He flied various kinds of fighters including J6 and was appraised as a first-grade pilot of the PLA Air Force with 1,200 hours of safe flight time. Now, he is a first-grade astronaut of the PLA Astronaut Corps. On September 2008, he undertook the Shenzhou VII flight task and was awarded the title “Hero Astronaut” after the mission. On June 2012, he was carried by the Shenzhou-9 spaceship for China's first manned space docking mission with the orbiting Tiangong-1 space lab module.
